Summer Skin Care Tips

Our skin is one of our most important features, why not take care of it.

Today I'm going to share some tips with you all on how to keep your skin in tip top shape this summer.

For oily skin:
1.cleanse thoroughly to get all the oil and grime from your pores which cause bacteria build up and acne. I would recommend developing a skin care routine that best fits your needs and budget.

2. Removing make up ( whether it's a remover or wipe) IS NOT CLEANING YOUR FACE. All it is doing is removing the make-up( and not all the make up comes off) and letting the rest sit on your face. Actually wash your face, to remove all excess product.

3.Moisturize, Moisturize, Moisturize!  Just because you have oily skin doesn't mean that  you do not have to use a moisturizer. It is very important that we keep out skin moisturized( using the right product of course) on order to control the oil out face is producing ( no Vaseline and cocoa butter don't count).

4. Protect! No matter your race or complexion always use sunscreen when going out in the sun. Skin damage/disease/cancer limits no race so protect for your own health.

5. Prime... Before you put any make up on, you better prime your face. Think about it, would you bake cookies without greasing the cookie sheet? No, because you don't want to cookies to stick to the sheet then leave the cookie to be uneven And whatnot, think of your face as the cookie sheet and your make up as the the cookies. Primer is that protecting layer that one makes your foundation last, while giving it a smooth finish and prevents it from sinking into the iBooks and crannies on your face.

So remember Prep( Remove) , cleanse, Moisturize, protect, prime, then apply.

For dry skin and combination, the same tips apply to you too!

Then, while in the Marc Jacobs store on Bleeker St.(NYC) I saw the display and was able to try the fragrance... OMG it is AMAZEBALLS, so light, fruity, and appropriate for summer.

Summer Beauty Tips!

Goooooood Morning Loves!
It is the 6th day of summer and it has been really hot. Normally, during the summer I stay away from make-up unless I'm going out but since I work at Sephora, I have to wear it everyday.
Don't get me wrong, I love make-up but me+ make-up + summer= oil field day on my face! Then you have to worry about it running, or accidentally wiping it off when you wipe sweat from your face smh, it's just a whole episode BUT I have done lovely tips for you guys so keep reading!

First, water! Water! Water! To keep your body and skin hydrated.
Next, after properly cleansing your face, moisturizer whether you have oily skin or not. Moisturizing is for us oily skin girls too, as long as you use an OIL FREE moisturizer( make sure it has SPF)
After moisturizing, PRIME! Prepping and priming your skin if you do decide to wear make up is uuber important because the primer will give you a long lasting outcome( matte primers are better in the summer)

Opt out of foundation unless your going somewhere special. This spring/ summer I've been wearing BB creams because they're light coverage, but does the job( I SET it with Powder and use concealer)
CC creams are similar to BB creams( provides more coverage).
After, you set your face LIGHTLY with a powder or bronzer( LIGHTLY)
Lastly you set your face with a make-up setting spray to seal your summer ready look.
If you want a little eye make-up to set your look I recommend a waterproof brown eyeliner and waterproof mascara( brown because if it runs, no raccoon eyes).

And can't forget lips, in the summer I don't like wearing lipstick nor do I like carrying it around in my purse so it could melt. Lipgloss is also a no go because it can cook on your lips if its hot enough. I say go for a lip stain( sephora has a great one) or a tinted spf lip balm if you want some color.

And as a maybe product( I love it)
Face blotting linens will be your BFF. These linens will not wipe your make up off if you dab and not wipe.  The absorb the oil in your skin while keeping make up fresh.

Hope this helped you some. Any questions comment or follow me on Instagram Cosmomars and twitter cosmomars_

On Location: Sex and The City Tour review

This past weekend( June 21st) I, along with 3 of my girlfriends took a cute trip to NYC and went on the Sex and the City Tour presented by On Location tours.

If your a SATC fan then this tour is for you. We toured throughout Manhattan to see some of the hotspots from the show and movie from the Meat Packing district to Chelsea and the village. We went to Scouts bar and got free cupcakes as well as went to "Pleasure Chest" where Charlotte bought her "rabbit".

My friends and I had a blast on the tour, I would recommend it to any SATC fan, $49 well worth it. The tour does take place on a bus, but you do get off at the popular spots like Buddkhan, pleasure chest, and bleeker street to name a few.

You can purchase ticket at zerve.com
If anybody needs a trip planned, I do plan trips (especially to NYC)

RiRi <3's MAC lipstick review

Greetings Dolls!

So for being away so long, I've been working like crazy and my laptop broke so I can only blog from my trusty dusty iPhone lol. I was able( after 240 minutes) to get the latest lippes from the RiRI/MAC collabo. I have pictures comparing them to similar lipsticks, and swatches. Enjoy!

RiRi Woo
(L - R MAC Red, RiRi Woo, Ruby Woo)
RiRi the most popular of the collection and also the sister of every bodies favorite Ruby did not disappoint(maybe because I knew it mirrored Ruby).
I've never been a red person but since I cut my hair, I've been feeling red lippies and Riri has been my go to. If you fall for the hype or simply love Rihanna, I say if it gets released again go for it BUT Ruby Woo is a classic and it's not too much of a difference between the two.

(L-R Up The Amp,RiRi Boy, Strong Women, Heroine, Hot Chocolate) (all mac)
Next, my least favorite RiRi Boy. This is the Matte version of MAC beginners lipstick Up The Amp. I don't like this lipstick, it doesn't do anything for my skin but I love it on my best friend. I was so excited to get this only because I like Up The Amp but I could've saved my $15 plus I have similar looking lipsticks .

Last, Heaux which completely surprised me. I was so close to not getting this color but I'm glad I did. It's a Berry red that seems like it would fit any complexion. I wouldn't say this would be my go to but ill probably wear it a few times. The texture is nice (retro matte) very pigmented and goes on smooth.

Overall, the lipsticks are nice and pigmented, they favor other shades but what do you expect. I'm not sure if I will continue to keep up with the RiRi hearts MAC future collections, we will see.

Do you have Mr. Big Syndrome?

Studies show, and by studies I mean Cosmo, yahoo answers, and countless blogs show that more than half the women in the world suffer or have suffered from "Mr. Big syndrome".

What the heck is Mr. Big syndrome? If you are a fan of the hit show and movie(s) Sex and The City, then you should have an idea of this syndrome. For those who are not so familiar, Mr. Big was the handsome, charismatic love interest of the fabulous Carrie Bradshaw( the main character). For five years, Carrie and Big had a dysfunctional, on and off again relationship due to Bigs' commitment phobia. Carrie, despite dating other men could not drop Big, even when he married a girl 10 years younger than her AND left her at the alter.
Carrie, though she tried just couldn't shake big, he was that guy that would go away for some time but show right back up just when you were getting over him. He was that guy who was amazing in bed and very few could compare. He was the guy who you had intellectual conversations with, and because he was so open with you, you thought "why aren't we together?"

I currently am experiencing Mr. Big syndrome, but then again I swear I'm Carrie Bradshaw(lol). At the tender, young age of 19 ,again, I am suffering from this syndrome. I won't go into the whole background story but it has been awhile and a episode honey.
We see girls who "chase" these guys like Carrie, they cry, curse them out then take them right back expecting change(though we know deep down he will never change) but after years( the average time span of Mr. Big syndrome) we as women decide to move on or if we get lucky like Carrie, we end up marrying our Big.

What makes these "Bigs" out here so addicting that we just don't want to leave them alone? It may be the charm, the sex, the money, or intelligence that he possesses and of course that little bit of bad boy or it may be that we as women are addicted to the thrill of knowing that "he will always be back " and that he is just so unattainable.

We ask ourselves these questions daily, but when will we be over this syndrome? Welp, that's up to you. See Carrie and Bigs eventually got married, so where does that leave us normal gals? If you are truly over the syndrome, then prove it to yourself. I have learned from my experience with the syndrome that sometimes, you have to just move on with life because wasting time and emotions sucks for you and your friends because they're the ones who will have to hear the story 50 times.

To my "Mr.Big" if you are reading this, curse you and your charm. I'm not sure if it was love, addiction, or lust but whatever it was served as my guilty pleasure.

To the writers of Sex and The City, thanks for selling us regular girls some hope
